Photo gallery in October is now posted! This month’s theme is “Start”

Every month, I post three photos that I took through the month.

To take good photos, it is important to have more people see them. It is also wonderful to make people happy with the photos that I took. That’s why I post photos every month!

Start of intermediate class of photo school was an upset

We have started learning about “photo that conveys emotions” since October 2019. After one year passed, we were promoted to the intermediate class which started this month. So, this month’s theme is “Start”.

But…

The start of the class became a shocking one.

In the beginner’s class, students submitted three photos each month according to the theme. The teacher carefully commented on each photo. However in the intermediate class, all the photos are first looked by all the students, and each student is asked to select the best photo other than his/her work.

The result is that while “good photos” are chosen from a few students and others are not chosen at all. I was one of them.

Not selected photos are not to be commented even by Teacher.

Teacher repeated as, “it doesn’t mean that the photos not selected are bad photos”. But in the end, it is obviously shown that “your photos were under the level that can move emotion of people here”.

I felt down a little.

So, the below three photos of this month are all without comment from Teacher.

The first photo is “Nice to meet you”

It was in May that my long loved car which I drove for 13 years became a scrap due to rear-end accident. The awaited new car has arrived. This is a photo taken on the day I received the new car with a bouquet which was prepared by a Honda sales person who took care of me since the accident happened.

The car look nervous and anxious, though the sales person look bright after handing over the new car. Is the car worrying about my driving?

The second photo is “New rice march, start!”

This photo was shot by QuickSnap, a film camera.

The long lines of straw that had been harvested, threshed and dried. They look like marching, saying “now we deliver new rice to you!”

I like unique, warm texture of film, just like old movie.

The third photo is “To the new world”

This is the personal masterpiece of this month.

After long thinking of the theme “start”, I took a selfie, opening a door with an image of going out to the new world. This is one of the countless burst shots, taken with a tripod set, auto-focus and repeated actions.

The difficulty when shooting and the photo itself have no relation, however I like this photo much because I wanted to express an airy ambience just like this. Too bad, it was not selected by anyone.

Well, what would happen to the intermediate class next month, I wonder. The number of students may be decreased due to too much shock…
