Photo gallery in July is now posted!

Every month, I post three photos taken by one theme!

To take good photos, it’d be better to have more people to look at. It is also wonderful to communicate with people through photos that I took. That’s why I post photos every month!

This month’s theme : “Midori / Green”

Color expression is this month’s theme. It is a season of fresh greenery, and the outside is full of green leaves.

But…

My works are honestly little disappointing this month. I could have done more to reach a higher degree of perfection, but I didn’t do it with excuse that I was too busy. My teacher pointed it out sharply and I feel down.

The first photo is, when I organized vegetables after coming back from shopping

This scene was the first thing that came to my mind, when I heard this month’s theme as “green”. The memo I wrote at that time said as “Shoot vegetables. Looking at vegetable is enjoyable. The life force of vegetables.”

It was already evening when I came back from shopping, too dark without electricity. You can see that the yellow color of the light was directly reflected on the vegetables. The teacher also said, “Though it is a good motif, the original color of vegetables is not fully expressed”.

Let me post the another version after color adjustment by RAW development as I’m so frustrated myself. I should have done it at least this level before the class.

The second photo is a lush rice field after rice-planting

It was the time of rice-planting, so for me, it is natural to go to rice fields in the neighborhood to find “green”. I chose this photo because I liked the contrast of colors; a farmer’s white shirt and the green rice field.

Teacher : “What is a leading role in this photo?” Me : “The farmer!”

Probably, Teacher thought that “the leading role would not be the rice-field?” That’s right, if I think. What I wanted to take was the rice-field. The farmer’s white shirt enhances the lush color of the rice-field as a supporting role. As I was thinking about the reasonability, the leading role and the supporting role were swapped without realizing. I still can not recognize the leading role and the supporting role.. I’m so mad at myself.

The third photo is a lovely little lotus bud taken at a botanical garden

My favorite botanical garden in Hiratsuka, Kana Garden had been shut down since March. In June, it finally was re-opened. Hydrangea, lily and lotus were fully blooming. The lotus flowers were in the middle of the pond, it was too far to capture with my camera. However, when I looked down at my feet, a lotus bud was there, looking out her face little embarrassing.

Teacher said, “Put the focus sharply on the tip of the bud. You need to maximize your opportunity”.

I recently bought a new lens, but I still can not adjust the aperture properly. Not able to put focus where I want to show most, and background is meaninglessly blurred.. Teacher probably would like to say, “You don’t need to open the aperture so much. It is more important that you can take what you like to take without difficulty”.

It will not be a work until the fine details are properly adjusted. The beginners’ class of photo school that started last year, is already in the second half. Excuse and carelessness are severely pointed out. I have to go back to the basics and motivate myself again. I will be back next month!

Taking photo is so deep!

This is the end of this month’s photo gallery.
